The International Space Station and Endeavour
This is by far and away (literally) my favorite ISS photo that I have taken. It was shot on August 20, 2007. It shows the ISS in the lead with Space Shuttle Endeavour freshly separated and trailing as it prepared for a Florida landing on August 21, 2007. The cool thing about this photo is that fellow Hastings College Alumni Clay Anderson is onboard the ISS in this photo. Clay graduated a year ahead of me and we have followed similar paths. He spent time in space and I have been known to be rather spacey myself! It kind of a rare opportunity to photograph the ISS let along the ISS with a space shuttle trailing it. And I gotta say it's even rarer to actually know someone who was onboard the ISS when it flew over our house! We did a metal print of this photo and had the privilege of presenting it to Clay when he was doing a speaking engagement in Tucson, AZ in July of 2018. Clay was kind enough to sign a copy of the print for us. We also picked up 2 of the books that Clay has written while we were there.
