What the heck is an NFT you ask?

NFT stands for non-fungible token. You’re welcome!

Here we go. An NFT is a unit of data stored on a digital ledger, called a blockchain, that certifies a digital asset to be unique and therefore not interchangeable. NFTs can be used to represent items such as photos, videos, audio, and other types of digital files (Digital Artwork in our case). Access to any copy of the original file, however, is not restricted to the buyer of the NFT. While copies of these digital items are available for anyone to obtain, NFTs are tracked on blockchains to provide the owner with a proof of ownership that is separate from copyright.

NFT’s are digital assets that exists completely in the digital universe—you can’t touch them, but you can own them.

Still lost? Welcome to the club! Let’s try this. Think of an NFT as an envelope. On the front of the envelope is all the historical information (metadata) about the ownership of one of our digital artwork creations including a unique identifiable number. Inside the envelope is our digital artwork creation and a smart contract. If we think of an NFT in terms of money, a 20 dollar bill can be swapped for four 5 dollar bills and still holds the same value, which means a 20 dollar bill is a Fungible Token. If this 20 dollar bill is autographed by say, Tiger Woods, it becomes a totally unique product. Its value is then much harder to determine, as it’s no longer simply worth four 5 dollar bills. This means a cannot be swapped for any equivalent value. It also means that, like any investment, its value can increase or decrease in the future depending on the circumstances.

Why should you consider investing in a Torenka NFT?

Here are the top five reasons to buy NFT art, all of which are unique to NFTs:

1. The cool factor – Unlike traditional artworks—paintings, mosaics, statues, and the like—NFT art can come in a wide range of possibilities. There are 2D, 3D, and animated pieces available, some of which feature super cool, mind-bending graphics.

2. Anti-forgery – The central idea underpinning NFTs is that they are built on the blockchain, which is meant to offer advanced security for the investor.

3. Easy authentication – Another compelling aspect of NFT art and NFTs in general is the ability to quickly and easily authenticate items, as the record of ownership is scrupulously kept on the blockchain.

4. Unique connections – Many collectors of digital art feel good about supporting the artists who put so much time and energy into their digital artwork. Plus, they have the occasion to develop a unique connection with the creator.

5. Alternative investments – If you think cryptocurrency, blockchain, and NFTs are the future, then you might look at NFT art as an alternative investment to the usual fare like stocks and bonds.

In our case, we are taking our photos and creating Digital Artwork. We are adding motion to some of our images giving them a unique, life-like quality. It takes time and money to create an NFT. Some of our motion images can take 20 or more hours to digitize. And there are “gas fees” and other expenses involved to create and launch our NFT’s.

It is our hope that you will find our photos compelling enough to invest in our digital artwork.

Please look at our creations here on our website. As we create new images we will post info at the top of this page on our drop dates and where you have the opportunity to invest in our art should you be so inclined.

As always, thanks for your time! Cheers!
